What is a digital footprint?
Your digital footprint is the trail of information connected to you through your use of the internet. An active digital footprint includes things you deliberately contribute, such as posts, comments, profiles and reviews. A passive digital footprint includes information collected as you use online services, such as technical and behavioural data.
That Was Then focuses on one specific part of your footprint: the social activity you have built up across Facebook, Instagram and X.
What does the extension check?
Instagram: posts, likes, comments and reposts. Facebook: posts, photos, comments and videos. X: posts, likes, comments and reposts. It does not search the whole internet, Google, data brokers, breach databases or the dark web.
The activity stays in the extension’s local browser storage for review. Account access, purchases and optional telemetry are separate service flows described in the privacy notice.
