Delete Twitter and X likes

Delete Twitter and X likes in bulk. The extension reads your Likes timeline and unlikes the posts you choose, one native action at a time.

Short answer

X keeps your likes on a tab of your own profile, and each one is removed with the native Unlike control. The timeline does not record when you liked a post, so year-by-year cleanup is not possible on X itself. The extension scans that Likes timeline and lets you review items before an unlike attempt. The extension never substitutes the source post’s date for the date you liked it.

Limit

X does not expose a reliable liked-at date. The extension never substitutes the source post date.

Why native cleanup is hard

The platform controls work. They were never built for history, which is the friction people hit before they look for anything else.

  • No liked-at dateX shows the post’s date, not the date you liked it, so a period cannot be filtered honestly.
  • One unlike per interactionThere is no native multi-select on the Likes timeline.
  • Years of rowsLikes accumulate faster than posts, so the list is usually the longest thing on the account.
  • A record of attentionThe Likes tab tracks what held your interest, and most people never revisit it.

What actually changes

The platform controls still do the deleting. The extension changes how you get to them.

What this page covers

Every way people ask for this.

How to delete Twitter likes

X keeps your likes on a tab of your own profile and removes them one at a time. The extension reads that timeline and lets you work through it as one set.

Delete all Twitter likes

Likes accumulate faster than posts, so the list is usually the longest thing on an account. A scan that cannot confirm the end is labelled partial rather than called a total.

Remove X likes by year

Not reliably. The timeline shows when the post was written, not when you liked it, and the extension will not substitute one for the other.

Delete likes on Twitter without deleting tweets

Your posts, replies and reposts are untouched. Only your likes change.

Does unliking notify the author

No. Removing a like is silent. Only the visible count changes.

Twitter or X, same thing

The platform renamed, the behaviour did not. This page uses both names because people still search for both.

Scan, review, then act.

The extension keeps discovery, selection and action as separate decisions.

  1. 01

    Scan the supported source

The implementation reads the current signed-in platform view and labels incomplete results.

  2. 02

    Review every selection

Apply supported date filters and keep any item you do not want to change.

  3. 03

    Attempt the native control

Availability depends on the platform and test status above. Submitted is not confirmed; incomplete verification stays unknown.

Why people do this

The reasons that bring people to this page, rather than a generic case for privacy.

Privacy housekeeping

Likes map interests and affiliations more precisely than posts do.

A job search

A like is widely read as agreement, whatever you meant by it.

A relationship that ended

A trail of likes on one account’s posts.

A fresh start

Resetting the signals the timeline algorithm works from.

Questions

Specific answers for this activity type.

Can I remove X likes by year?

Not reliably, because the timeline does not provide the date you liked each post.

Does unlike affect the source post?

No. It removes only the signed-in account’s like.

Why can you filter posts by date but not likes?

X exposes a date for your posts. It does not expose the date you liked something, so any year filter on likes would be invented.

Will the author know?

No notification is sent. Only the count changes.

Can I undo an unlike?

You can like the post again manually. There is no undo.

How many likes will it find?

However many X renders. Long lists can stop short, and that scan is labelled partial.

Will X restrict my account?

Unknown. Sudden volume can look unusual to any platform.

Does it work on the app?

No. Desktop Chrome only.

Do my likes leave my computer?

No. Everything found stays in Chrome storage.

Are bookmarks the same as likes?

No. Bookmarks are a separate, private list and are not a supported category.

Before you remove anything

No public build is available yet, and X removal remains unverified. The free digital footprint checklist covers what to review across platforms in the meantime.
